Change it on the Run

One of the great things about the TOP Server is the ability to make changes to the configuration on the run in the user interface when in Runtime mode or through special system tags.  Many other servers require you to stop the client to be able to make configuration changes.  The ability to make runtime changes supported by the TOP Server can greatly decrease start-up and testing time as well as simplifying system maintenance.  You can also prevent unauthorized changes through the User Interface using the built-in security features. 

You can change all these settings on the run through the User Interface or through system tags:

1. Auto Demotion setting
2. Enable and disable devices
3. Change Timeout settings to fine tune your system and optimize performance
4. Control a Modem (using system tags)
5. Implement Redundancy Support from your client application to perform the following: (The OPC Server Manager can do this for you automatically)
• Switch COM ports
• Switch Ethernet cards
• Change Device ID or IP Addresses
