Starting with TOP Server V5.6, a new ProgID Redirect feature is available.  This functionality allows users to map another OPC Server’s OPC ProgID registration to TOP Server, such that any OPC DA Client using the other OPC Server’s ProgID will be accessing TOP Server instead.

You get to the the TOP Server Settings  by Right Clicking on
the Administration Icon V5_Administation_ICON_w45_h42_sharp
at the bottom right of your Desktop and choosing Settings from the pop up menu. If you don’t see the Administration Icon, go to the desk top Start Menu - All Programs - Software Toolbox - TOP Server 5 - TOP Server 5 Administration.  The Administration Icon shown will then appear.
See the Administration Settings (shown below) displaying the ProgID Redirect section, where ProgIDs are configured.  Please note that it is necessary for any client applications to be restarted.  Also, the TOP Server service or process must be restarted once ProgIDs have been configured for them to be accessible.

This functionality can be useful in minimizing changes that have to be made in OPC Client applications when migrating to TOP Server V5, either from another OPC Server or from TOP Server V4.x applications.
